Today The Brian Buckley Band’s album “Hysterical Blindness” comes out… I have already downloaded it off of iTunes and you should too! They are a class act and really truly appreciate the Supernatural fandom, I haven’t been excited about a band like this since Oasis… Let’s all support them and use the hashtag #BrianBuckleyBandTuesday on twitter!

Why my stepdad is greatest dad of them all:

My stepdad is in hospital today. Last night he took an overdose because he’s a recovering alcoholic who has fallen off the wagon and he thought that he had let everyone down. So I’m going to go visit him in about 45 minutes, I’ll be spending my father’s day next to a hospital bed. I thought I’d just take this time to say why he is my hero - regardless of the stupid things he’s done. Here is a list of all the things I want to thank him for but will never have the balls to say:

- For always being there. No matter the amount of times we’ve argued, I’ve scowled and glared at you. All those times I’ve said horrible things you have still always been there for me. You still always stuck up for me and were on my side, even when I was wrong.

- For yelling at me when I was a kid and even now. The only person I was truly scared of, but in a more respectful way rather than a terrified way. The person who could make me go crying to my mum and apologise repeatedly.

- For always keeping a promise. Like that time when I was fourteen, I was at a Halloween party and a little bit drunker than I should have been. My stepdad knew where I was but he didn’t tell my mum, he paid for me to get a taxi home. He should have gone running to my mum but didn’t because he’d promised not to and to this day she doesn’t know.

- For teaching me stuff: Even the little stuff. Everything from showing me where the accelerator was in a car to how to kick a football. For telling me all about your days in the army, even if I am technically a pacifist.

- For always being there when my real dad wasn’t: Like all those times he took my brother and sister out but not me. Those forgotten birthday’s and the times he didn’t show up. You were always there to make me feel wanted. Always.

- For being proud of me: And making me feel proud of myself. Even though I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished that much you can make me feel like I have. No matter what I do, you always make me feel like a good person and I know you’ll always make me do the right thing or feel guilty as hell.

- For giving up drinking to begin with: I know it was hard, but you did it anyway. You did for your family. That took so much, and I can’t tell you how much I respect you for that.

- For being the tallest, biggest person I knew. For being so brave, and not being scared of anything. For playing football with me, for carrying me around on your shoulders and making me feel huge. For giving me those amazing days when I was a kid, and just needed my dad.

And those are some of the few reasons why I love you and just want you to get better again. For all those times I saw you drunk when I was a kid, I forgive you because all those stuff you did whilst sober more than make up for it.

Happy father’s day, I love you, and I hope you get better soon.
